WHICH SKI SHOES SHOULD I CHOOSE?
Keeping your feet warm and comfortable is a pretty good start for any ski trip. But what are the qualities of different ski shoes and what makes some warmer than others? ALFA have been experts on the trails since 1931. We have thousands of hours behind us full of testing at Lygna, next door to our head office in Hadeland, Norway. The result is unique ski shoes with GORE-TEX.
Browse the summary of how the different models set themselves apart from each other, and which choices you need to make to find the shoe that fits you best.
As an ALFA Ambassador and Adventurer, Andreas Orset has tested the boots in varying terrain and climate. Here are his experiences, which will hopefully make you more confident in your choice when buying new boots.

Insulation
It’s obvious to us a ski shoe should have good insulation, so your feet don’t freeze.
The insulation in the sole protects against the cold from the snow and is decisive in how warm your feet are. We have chosen to use a natural material with great insulative properties in all our models.
Breathability
Your feet can also become damp from humidity and sweat. We solve this issue by being the only brand on the market to combine a GORE-TEX membrane in our ski shoes. The GORE-TEX membrane ensures sweat is
wicked away from the foot and simultaneously prevents water entering. In this way ALFA ensures the ski shoes are warm and comfortable for your feet throughout each and every ski trip.
Waterproof
Skiing is usually thought of in combination with winter, snow and cold temperatures. At this time of year, it’s not always necessary to consider how waterproof your shoes are. But for anyone who has been skiing, it’s well known that cold temperatures and dry conditions aren’t always guaranteed. Wet snow can settle on ski’s and shoes and melt. Without a waterproof outer material, the dampness can seep into the shoe. All our ski shoes are equipped with the waterproof material AlfaAir™, a synthetic two-layer laminate which durable and requires minimal maintenance. Combined with the GORE-TEX membrane we guarantee dampness from your surroundings will stay out of your shoe.
